2nd Anniversary's Post

It's the second anniversary of my first post on this blog. It's a very special occasion to thank sincerely all the viewers and followers of the blogs and, emphatically, the comments that make the blog so special.

The best of the year

Here's my selection of my favorite blog posts of this year, in no particular order. If you feel the absence of one design, cite it on comment!

 Iberian Union

 Brazil

 Dunedin (New Zealand)

 Dahlak Archipelago (Eritrea)

 Gaza Strip

Goals from previous year

It's the list of goals I've made on previous year. Let's see if I achieved them? On parentheses, the possibility I bet.
  • A year full of posts (90%): Yes!
  • Keep all blogs alive (80%): More or less. I diminished the Flag Review posting frequency on the half, and Flags of U.S. States is alive, but a bit dormant.
  • Complete the US states series (95%): As I said above, no.
  • Complete my Brazilian capital flags series (70%): Almost there!
  • Keep posting on Flags Forum (80%): Yes!
  • Complete my personal coat of arms (60%): Yes!
  • Achieve a real change with Vexillology Wiki (10%): No.
  • Establish a Brazilian vexillology society (30%): It almost happened, but idea is a bit dormant now, I guess.

Goals to next year

  • A year full of posts (85%);
  • Keep all blogs alive (85%);
  • Complete the US states series (90%);
  • Complete my Brazilian capital flags series (95%);
  • Keep posting on Flags Forum (80%);
  • Establish my new blog focuses on Brazilian heraldry [in Portuguese or bilingual] (90%).

Gain a gift!

The blog is making anniversary, and who gains the gift is its most important actor: you! Suggest a theme to a post, and I'll do my best on it.

Your comments are very important.
I can't forget to thank you again for viewing, following or commenting.

Anniversary's Post

I thought my first blog post was February 26th 2012, but it seems the correct date was February 19th. However, it's visible that the blog just completed its first anniversary! Firstly, I'd like to thank very much every reader: the numbers are just incredible. It grew up very much this year and gained two brothers - the Flag Review and the Flags of U.S. States -, although, for me, they are almost the same blog.

Goals to next year

Some flag-istic goals I'd like to achieve before the next birthday. Between parenthesis, an approximated chance to achieve it.
  • A year full of posts (90%);
  • Keep all blogs alive (80%);
  • Complete the US states series (95%);
  • Complete my Brazilian capital flags series (70%);
  • Keep posting on Flags Forum (80%);
  • Complete my personal coat of arms (60%);
  • Achieve a real change with Vexillology Wiki (10%);
  • Establish a Brazilian vexillology society (30%).
Next year I'll see what we completed.

The best of the year

My personal favorites of the year. I'd like to see your favorites, too.

No, I'm not giving iPhones. The way I chose to thank for the reader is the following: choose any subject (yes, anything!) and I'll design a proposal to it, the soonest possible. Don't be afraid, don't be shy, participate!

Thanks again, thanks a million times! This post is specially open to suggestions, critiques, questions, etc. Don't forget to give your comment!
Sorry, I had to take a pause to celebrate, but a new flag in next week!

Announcement

The blog is about six months on air, and we're very near the 1,000th view. To commemorate it, I'm proposing an special activity: suggest a subject (any subject!) and I'll present a flag proposal to it. Comments are open for a month: until August 7, 2012.

As soon the suggestion are given, I'll post the answers!

I'm counting with your participation, and, for now, I thank everybody for make the blog grow with your audience!

Suggestions to my USA flag...

You can't believe! I'm participating in a culture exposition, and I received USA as my country theme — was Germany, but I change with mates... Yes, it's a true story! The good part is that I know a lot about USA. The bad is that everybody knows a lot about USA. So I want to show a big lot of informations.

So I proposed to my groupmates an art based in "The Star-Spangled Banner" as stand decoration. Being I probably the only one that understands of flags, I was planning something like this:

I'm working with a more beautiful eagle, but it's a draft. If I really utilize it, I'll fix colors, etc. The exposition is scheduled to the second half of August, and I'm inviting you to colaborate with ideas. Furthermore, I'm planning to constroy a 3D US Air Force roundel, because I love roundels and it rare in Brazil to know somebody that knows about them.

P.S. My old proposal to Germany was this (I won't use it, because I don't have the country anymore):

Castle, camps, mountains... it's only missing the great German forests. It's a pity it's useless.

I'm saying the truth, I'll really enjoy your participation!
You just need to put links to ideas in comments section in this post, and you might win some credit.
